Last but not least is the pool area in The Haven — an exclusive ‘ship within a ship’ area on Norwegian Joy that’s just for guests booked into a Haven stateroom. In addition to this exclusive pool is a private lounge, bar, restaurant, and sundeck. Back outside, there are a variety of hot tubs dotted around the outside of the ship, including here on the side with great ocean views, as well as on the main pool deck. Unlike other Norwegian ships, the pool is not the main focus on the main central deck aboard Norwegian Joy.
Suites on Norwegian Cruise Line ships
With a large resort-style ship, cruise travelers expect a lot of different places to dine, and the Norwegian Escape delivers, with 28 dining options. Some of these are luxurious and gourmet, others are casual and takeaway. Although several of the venues are complimentary, many are either a fixed surcharge or a la carte.
Norwegian Prima
The ship also will have several other major family-friendly attractions that TPG was not able to see during our visit to the ship, including the largest go-cart race track at sea. Dubbed the Prima Speedway, it'll span three decks and be 1,378 feet long — 22% longer than the current record-breaking race track on Norwegian's 3-year-old Norwegian Encore. The ship has many more bars and lounges, and many have both indoor at outdoor seating, taking full advantage of the Norwegian Escape's Caribbean itineraries.

From soda packages for kids & teens to cocktails, wine and beer selections for adults, we have a number of fantastic options to choose from. Something we’ve noticed across many of Norwegian’s ships — and especially the Breakaway and Breakaway-Plus class vessels are the massive, colorful, over-the-top chandeliers.

It might not have been very sunny when I took this photo but this is the sun deck. The drinks are priced similarly to how they are in a Starbucks on land, and the majority of the drinks you’ll find on land are available here. I do quite like looking at other people’s photos but photos aren’t displayed.

The lounge stretches along two sides of the ship and around the back. Cruise ships of this size can feel very busy but it was always possible to get a drink and a seat in this lounge. Located right in the centre of the ship you’ll find the Atrium Bar. This is a very popular place for passengers to meet up before dinner and can get very busy.
In most cases, these studio cabins have windows that face an interior hallway, though some solo cabins have windows and balconies. Norwegian also offers four solo cabins on its Hawaii-based Pride of America. The takeaway here is that you'll have a tougher time locking down a suite on an older Norwegian ship than on a newer vessel. If you're planning a cruise on one of the line's older vessels and a suite is a must, you'll want to book early to make sure you get one.
The Buffet (Garden Cafe) – Deck 16
The indoor virtual reality complex will feature immersive VR experiences, simulator rides, Atlantis-themed laser tag and an escape room. Featuring a 1,100-foot-long go-kart track, a virtual reality complex and a 90-minute rendition of the Broadway hit "Kinky Boots," the ship will put a fresh twist on its fleet mates' most exciting features. Just be ready to look through a lot of suite types if you're booking a Norwegian ship.
Casino – Deck 7
Norwegian is one of the best cruise lines when it comes to entertainment, and there’s a solid lineup aboard Joy — Footloose being one of the most popular. Given society’s current love of just about anything virtual reality, Norwegian Cruise Line tapped into that with their Galaxy Pavilion venue — a space chock-full of virtual reality games and experiences. Below are some of the VR experiences that can be found there. The Haven was still under considerable construction at the time of our tour so we weren't able to see inside its suites.

That said, passengers seem to move around often and with the number of bars onboard Norwegian Encore you’ll soon find a seat.
